Unfortunately, the yellow frosting was gel frosting, so the stripes don't show up as well.

This was for our wonderful "But we have to save the fish!" neighbors who came to our rescue when the power went out and we were out of town

As I have mentioned before, you are VERY lucky to have thoughtful and open neighbors to help when an emergency happens and you are away from home. I hope they appreciated your artwork.

It was a Chocolate Indulgance Cake from a King Arthur mix, and it is absolutely deadly ... have to use fudge dosing rather than cake dosing

And yes, we are wonderfully lucky to have great neighbors.

Wrong tense. Yes, we ate that delicious dark chocolate loach. Smooth and creamy!

Its great artwork on that cake you could even tell it was a Striata

I thought it was going to be an April Fool's thread. Loaches & chocolate, the perfect combo!

By the way, Pakistani loaches are such fascinating creatures. They give off a beautiful silver shimmer when the lights are on, and they manage to twist and contort their bodies almost like Kuhlis. And they are so zesty and full of life, compared to slow, sluggish catfish. Comparing a loach with a catfish is like comparing a dragonfly with an RC plane. At least from what I've seen: loaches change direction so much more quickly than catfishes (although scared Corydoras can pull a surprising turn of speed).
