Hill Stream tank

Hi Everyone
I am mainly a Betta fish person but have started to get into Loaches.
I picked up 2 pair of Reticulated Hill Stream loaches when I was visiting Calgary last month. They have been in a regular tank right now and seem to be ok.
I am setting up a 20 gal Hill Stream tank. I know it isn't very big but I don't have a lot of room. I am using 1/2" pVC pipe and a Maxi-jet 600 power head. I have a mix of sand and small stones on the bottom with larger stones across the center part of the tank. ( will post a picture later)
I would like to know what type of plants to put in the tank too.
If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate them.
Thanks
Catherine

Plants do not thrive when the water is pushing them around too much. Get low plants with tough leaves. Dwarf Anubias, Wendelov Java Fern and other small ones, and tuck them into the safe areas of rocks and driftwood.
You will read that the roots of these should not be buried, and this is true. However, you can anchor them down by placing a bit of gravel over the roots, or tie them to a rock and set them so most of the plant is on the downstream side.
