Loaches Online Forum

Hi there

Im new to loaches.com. I loooove loaches especially zebra loaches. I have a 4ft tank with:

5 - danios
8 - Emperor Tetras
4 - zebra loaches
2 - botia rostrata
1 - unidentified loach (looks like a cross banded loach with a rostrata)
other loach died recently and I was convinced he was a sinibotia pulchra (12 banded chinese loach)
4 - hillstream loaches

I started with 1 - clown loach but due to bad information from the lfs I lost him but that got me started on loaches. After some research learnt that zebras were a good choice but once again due to ignorance from lfs ended up with an assortment (I was also very ignorant in the beginning) but not many people seem to know much about loaches hence why i joined this site

Welcome Sammy, sounds like you went down the path many of us have been. I went through a similar situation about a year and a bit ago. One great thing about this forum is that there are a lot of fanatical loach people that are very keen to help any questions or problems you may have regarding loaches. Striatas/Zebras are very cool, i would love to have a bunch of those guys!

My tank - 65g, 6 x 2.5 inch Kubotais, 6 x 2 inch clowns - Currently planning upgrade to 125g or 150g for when they grow! Would love to add 6 striatas in the upgrade!

Welcome! I came here to learn about loaches too. I have learned alot. Show us pictures of your tank when you have a chance.
