Here are a few pictures from September 1968 of my 20 and 40 gallon tanks.
Notice the background of paint we used back then.

We did not have too much of a choice of fish then. That I could afford anyway.

Really cool idea to post these ageless photos. Really nice picture of the clowns, timeless!!!

The background is definitely out there, scary!!!.

I have a tank with that 'crystal' paint! (Second picture, mine is green, too!)
There are so many plants I cannot see that background.

Very nice bookpage!

I also have some old pictures of my first Lach tank but it´s not as old as yours. Mine is as old as 1989.

Keep going your nice work!

Marcos.

Thank you everyone for your kind remarks.

BTW, I built the stand for my 40 gallon. It is still in use in my garage for storage. I think it would have held up a 100 gallon tank.

Very nice!
Were those Metaframe aquariums by chance?
I had a ten at that time with a Dynaflow filter.

Thanks, Jim. Yes they both had metal frames with slate bottoms. And, I also used Dynaflow filters. They was about the only HOB filter at the time. Of course I also use undergravel filters.

Great pics. You have some fine photog skills there. What kind of camera did you have back then? Even with a modern HD digital camera, I can't take pictures that good.

The fish and aquariums look superb too!

chefkeith, the negatives were 35 mm, so I guessing that it was a cheap 35 of some kind. I may have even borrowed it.

Thank you for your comments. I was 26 then.
