I have had a life long love of aquarium fish thru my dad that had very large tanks from fresh to marine setups, when I was a child. I now have a 240lt tank with a background I made myself

, live plants, bogwood, heavy sand & slate pieces. I was given a 60lt tank with five fancy tail goldfish & danios which got me started.

I purchased two hillstreams & one weather loach although I don't know how to sex them so at a loss as to what I have.

But today the hillies were putting on a great performance that didn't stop for atleast 45mins. dancing around each other, one being more forthright than the other.

Was this a fight between two males or a courtship dance

I would really appreciate any info about my hillies thanx

Welcome!
The "dance" you described could be either a courtship dance or just a territorial dispute. Were the fish trying to push each other around or was one "topping" the other?
Also, what species do you have?

Thanx for your reply Jim.

One was trying to top the other mostly, but there was a bit of shoving back & forth. Do you mean what species of loach

If so I will try to find out.
I have in my new tank ,five 2"- 3.5" fancy tail goldfish. five danois & one 6" weather loach. I would love to sell my gold fish. They are very beautiful but greedy & foul the water very fast.

I am looking at creating a loach community but need to sell my goldfish first.
By the way I am an american living in Wales. Been here since 1978. It's cool to talk to another yank.

In your Photobucket account, copy and paste the img code that is at the bottom of the drop down menu that appears when you put your cursor over the photo you wish to post.

Dorey, that URL is incomplete, but I managed to back-track from it and found this:
I think this is only the thumbnail for the pic though.
