WOW, i thought that someone would know on a loach fourm.

It definately looks like a leptobotia of some type if not pellegrini.

Almost looks like an albino version of the previous mentioned type...but either way it's def very close. Same markings though the original pics are for sure lighter. Same head and same fin placement and tail look.

Well, since the Leptobotia's are a little obscure and rarely available, I think you should cut everyone some slack for not knowing the species.
It looks most like pellegrini to me. It could be a young elongata, but juveniles under 2" tend to be a uniform charcoal gray. They are also quite rare.
What size are these fish?
I used to have a link to a bunch of pics of Chinese fish, (Mr.Tree's?) but lost it when my computer crashed a few months back.
There were numerous pics of Leptobotias. If someone has that link, I would imagine we could ID your fish.

There is also such variation by location, and there's no location information, no size information, no behavioural information, . . . makes it pretty difficult to ID an obscure species.

Looks almost like a Leptobotia hengyangensis to me. The site that I am looking at states that they are confused with L. pelligrini sometimes.

I saw 1 post with 64 replies about a dead clownloach .
I posted some new/unusual fish too but no interest.
I posted some photos and they were deleated too 4" sids

Agreed. I don't get the opportunity to buy unusual fish, so I have no knowledge.

I would imagine that people do not reply if they do not know the answer. That is certainly the case for me, and I imagine for a lot of beginners. It has nothing to do with a lack of interest. I have read this thread every time I saw a response so I could find out the answer.

Since most people care about the loss of a fish and have something to say, there are replies. Most of us have had this experience, and don't have the privilege, the access and/or money to buy exotic fish. It would be a waste of time for people to reply, "I dunno".

How about reviving the thread where we played "Guess the species of this fish"? At least then we all know we are playing a game. I can't answer the questions, but I found it interesting, and had the opportunity to see fish, I will never see in my lifetime.

Star I know this is off topic and I'm sorry but I do think we are soul mates too lol. Although my boy friend might not be happy with that statement. Any way you took the words out of my mouth in regards to the if we don't know we don't respond thing. I tend to only respond when I think what I say may be helpfull. So if I don't know or I don't think the pics of fish are neat or what ever rather then say I dunno or sorry I think those fish are ugly I don't respond either. And for whomever thinks that all any of us care about is clowns or khulies I prefer dojo/weathers.
