My fish club went on a collecting trip in the Hillsborough River in November. That is the large river that Tampa is built on and our source of freshwater. We find exotic fish all the time, including plecos, many types of cichlids, gobs of livebearers and last month they also found a dojo. Wish I was there. I would have taken him home. This was after a cold snap into the 40s. The weather loach and the haplo cat they found, did just fine. He did go home with one of the club members.

We have to have a license to take fish from the rivers, and we are not allowed to take game fsh, but we can get lots of other interesting fish to bring home. Of course I never put them in my regular tank, since I don't want to introduce wild diseases and parasites.

Yes, at least you can get a licence, in australia they have banned bristlenoses aswell and most l numbers. The only reason we get them like crazy is thanks to breeders like the one i went to today. He had tousands of bristlenoses of different species
