Hey everyone I was just wondering if anyone else was running into a similar problem. I gave within the last year been keeping golden dojo loach in with two fancy goldfish. The fist was a "dump"( his original owner for whatever reason didn't or couldn't keep him) so I took him. He was in horrible shape and as a result died 3-6 months of being with me but I loved him so then went out and bought a pair of my own. The male after some time had an issue where he lost his "whiskers" and then just went down hill till unfortunately died. I had the original female for some time after that and a few months after he died bought another female as a friend she got really sick and died. So now it's been many months since I've had the second female ( which is the first one that has had black spots) and she has done wonderfully. I would like to add another loach so she can have a friend. So here is my question has anyone encountered that a golden dojo loach with black spots is more healthier then the traditional golden dojo loach?

I would say that if the whiskers disappeared and you lost several additional loaches that the problem is water quality, especially with goldfish. They produce a lot of waste. Have you done ammonia, nitrite, nitrate tests on the water? Are there lots of places to hide for the dojo? What is the substrate? Sharper substrate can grind off the barbels. I would say all dojos are equally healthy, assuming you can find healthy stock. I would look at the health of your tank.
