i read this some where and i was woundering is this true and if so does it have to be treated or can it just go away i wAS WOUNDERING BECAUSE I HAVE 3 OF THESE (opps sorry caps locks came one)wounderful fish and i have never treated them for this but they seem healthy very active ,appitietes are good,etc... they seem kinda of thin but then again all pics that i have seen they are skinny.....hmmm....???????what should i do?

ofcourse not all of them will have the species is known for it to have it more than others.

I always treat new botia's for worms or other parasites before they go in the main tank just to be safe. Since i don't want to lose al 14 i have of the kubotai so far.

you should treat them in the main tank then. Every new loach MUST be treated for worms.

LEVAMISOLE is the drug to use. Levamisole is totally safe for loaches and other cyprinids. I have no personal knowledge on what it does to cichlids, but you moved them to another tank already, right?.

Read the FAQ on this forum.

Observe that the FAQ says that pH should be < 7.0 for the treatment to work.


PS. Yes, the B.Kubotai's I've encountered had a very high rate of tapeworm infections, maybe as much as half...

Hasn't hurt the bettas that were in the tank. Nor the BN.
