Just got back from the post-office after picking up the latest issue of "Tropical world" magazine sent to me by Emma.

Not only does it feature her article on Hillstream Loaches, but the whole front cover is an awesome photo of Puntius denisonii that is a great lead into an article on the species by Iggy Tavares Image

The Hillstream article is excellent Emma. I see what you mean about the last paragraph having been truncated. It seems you were just getting into how your Desert-Island fish tank was going to keep you happy on the island? Certainly not good proof-reading by whoever.

The article is amply illustrated by photos supplied by "some bloke who knows about these things", plus a schematic of the River-Tank manifold that I drew specially for Emma's use in this article. Gets the word out there. Nice for me to see my pictures in print with the credits right there, plus Emma's text credits me with being somewhat knowledgeable on the subject  .

This is a really nice magazine actually. The new printers did a great job apart from the text blooper. Go get it Brits!

Thanks Emma......and for the lovely Marge photo on the thankyou card :)

Martin.

I'm glad it arrived safely and quickly, and that you liked the article, Martin. 8) Wish there had been room for a few more pics (such as Sewellia, Homaloptera, and the gorgeous SK02's that Hendra supplied) but alas, they have a space limit and I did get 4 pages on this after all.

Graeme - let me know if you get this issue (number 11) with the start of your subscription. If not, I can post you up a copy.

I'm sorry that the international subscription is so expensive - would have been nice for our friends over the pond to see it.

my fingers didnt even need to make that effort. i had wondered if someone had broken in to the publisher's stores, to open all the magazines on the hillsteam page, and then put a brick on that page so it mysteriously falls open there

Thank you for all the compliments! :D Hopefully it will help to get the information 'out there' a little bit more and encourage more people to keep hillstream loaches, and to keep them properly.
