How deep does a loach tank need to be?
Other dimensions are 3m long by 1m wide, would a 60cm (2') deep tank be enough as a long term loach home or would I need to go deeper?

Although many people will tell you that the height of a tank for loaches is not as important as the length and width, for
adult clown loaches, it is an issue. Ours is 28" high, and sometimes when Marge & her gang are doing the loachy dance in preparation for getting fed (or just when they are generally excited), this height actually sometimes seems quite shallow. One day, ours will get a larger tank or an indoor tropical pond, and we plan to go higher than 28". Of course they require a large footprint, but the height should not be overlooked.

Just got materials quote back
1x 3050mm x 750mm x 25mm £ 249.59ea
1x 3000mm x 1000mm x 5mm £ 108.48ea
2x 1000mm x 750mm x 5mm £ 27.12ea
1x 3000mm x 750mm x 5mm £ 81.36ea
Carriage £ 178.00 (UK)
All plus vat
I think that 2' deep water will have to do
The parts that are 5mm thick are going inside a wooden 20mm thick plywood casing and are really just for waterproofing
