What species is this Kuhli?

Hello! I joined these forums because I'm having trouble identifying one of my Kuhlis, and I was wondering if anyone here would have better luck. Here he is:

He's the one in the foreground, going through the cucumber slice. He has those little white stripes in between all of his bands. He's also about half the size of my other kuhlis. Any ideas?

I think there is great variation within fish species, which is why we so often post here asking what species a fish is. It's likely that it's a Pangio kuhli with a different pattern.

Here's one kuhli I had that started with a strange pattern then went completely brown on me:

I have another one with spots in the middle of his saddles just like yours (who is currently hiding, so no pics), and then I have this one:

Here is a link to the Species Index here at Loaches.

Scroll down to the genus Pangio and look at each listing, including pictures.

There are different species of Kuhlie Loaches with similar spot and stripe patterns. Some get just a bit larger than others, some are more consistent about having spots in between the stripes.
Yes, most Loaches (pretty much all species, not just Kuhlies) can have different striping than is normal for the species, and the striping can change as the fish matures. Some species are especially noted for that.
