I'm most certainly going to try and 'sweet' talk the missus. This is for relaxing in the summer. Watch a bit of TV, read some Books, Have a glass or two....etc. I think my TV will be a wide screen one *approx 5 or 6ft.

Wish me Luck! :?

Good luck Graeme. I liked Mad Duff's idea of getting his wife pressies when he buys fish, but this may take a quite impressive present.

what do you intend to watch in your wide screen  ?

Looks like it's nice and light (that a tree outside?). Could get good plant or algae growth maybe? 6 foot planted tank.....big shoal of sids, some neato dithers.

Or a mega River-Tank.....tons of current....strong light...algae covered loadsa stones.

Or I have a design for a b*ast*rd tank that would work nicely with 72" of play-room......that's part of The Book though......

So much possibility..... Image

It just seems to me that a tank (or two or three) is a natural for a room like this that is primarily for relaxation. I mean what is more relaxing that watching a tank full of fish? :D

Just trying to help you out.

Google......sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

Graeme....I was searching for the medical evidence of the relaxation and blood-pressure benefits from watching fish tanks....could have helped your case, but Google threw this up.

Not what I had in mind, but at least it seems to be sanctioned in the UK.

Greame have the robustas if you want them. you have a new room, and i have a renovated house that should have been finished over 3 years ago, owned by the in-laws who are not capable of getting a toilet plugged in to a tank in the garden.

i'm just not sure how much of a relaxing time you will have watching any Grrr species tank :D still, it's better than Google's input.
