Look at all those tankbusters crammed in there.

So wrong.

I was going to add that I've had my "Why Loaches Should Not Be Kept With African Cichlids" article ready for some time, just need to add a couple of pics, then it can be added to the site.

Maybe he thought by adding the Lilliput village the fish would think the tank is bigger than it is

Yeap. Looks like a cousin of what I see here.

On the idiotic choice of tankmates: Another store here keeps clowns with larger painted parrots. This is the only time I saw clowns with damaged fins (all). I tried to comment on this, but the only response was: Are you buying or what?, so I left.

Sorry to bring back to like such an old thread...

I guarantee this tank was set up by a (so called) professional tank designer-installer.

I often ask about responsiblity within the industry....
How can this sort of thing be enforced?
At what point (legally) do fish become pets rather then just decoration? There are real cruelty issues here. Is there argument that this is cruel?

Anybody know anybody at Animal Planet (tv channel) ? This might be a good little documentary to kick off the process.

There'd be work here for somebody wanting to can their day-job.

Ontario humane society does not consider fish or chicken for that matter to be worthy of protection. There are a lot of fish kept in horrendous conditions.Humane society say they have enough to do with furry animal abuse.
I make my mistakes too at home but I try to keep the fish happy and comfy.
I get lots of hostile looks from pet store clerks when i start pointing out dead fish and other fishy issues i see.
Would it be some kind of legal problem for you to mention this store so I don't find myself in there?

Well... Fish do die... and fish do get sick... Pet shops have a hard time staying on top of it all even the good ones...
