Hello,

from my experience adult Clown Loaches (Botia macracantha) do indeed enjoy raw (uncooked) cucumber and zucchini in their diet. You can use a rubber band to keep them from floating up to the surface. When I fed them some cucumber pieces, they were gone in about an hour or so.

It is a food highly appreciated by balitorid loaches as well.

Related continuation to question:

Any thoughts on hard boiled egg, chicken liver, heart, gizzard?

Cut into little bits as these items can be messy with small particles.
My tank is underpopulated, overfiltered, with current and with a few filter-feeding shrimp, so i suppose i get away with a lot.

Are there any chemical dramas with hard boiled egg yolk? I know it's high in fats/energy. Once it dries a bit it's far less powdery and easier to handle.

I've used hard boiled egg yolk in a pinch for angelfish fry. It is really gross, and fouls the water something awful

ONLY in case of emergency (as in something goes wrong with the batch of brine shrimp and the babies are STARVING) will I use it.
