Kuhli loaches and snails

Post by 6n165 » Wed Jan 25, 2006 8:46 am

Do kuhli loaches eat snails? I have a Brig tank and would like to put the Kuhlis in with them.

I have 5 kuhlis in my 75G planted tank. I have never seen them eat snails, although they may eat the vey small ones. They certainly didn't solve my snail problems. I put in a pair of Yoyos and a pair of Zebras, and my snail problem was solved.

IME, kuhlis are not snail killers. Get a yoyo, and the snails will disappear.
Your vantage point determines what you can see.

Actually, get more than 1. Odd numbers seem to be best. They are snail death machines.

Yeah Pangio's (kuhlis) are not snail eaters in my opinion. It's possible that they might eat some snail eggs though.

Snails seem to be happy and breeding quite nicely in my kuhli tank... too nicely in fact.
