Is this Pseudogastromyzon Myersi ?

Hi. Just found this site - great place! There isn´t much info on the net about these fascinating fishes.

I bought some suckerbelly loaches the other day - they´re still in my quarantine-aquarium where I took a couple of (losy, I´m afraid) photos of them.

They was sold to me as Pseudogastromyzon Myersi - but I´m not sure about which species they actually belong to. I hope that someone here can help me.

These are two different species of Gastromyzon. The spotted one is G. ctenocephalus.

I´ve read the articles on hillstream loaches on this site, and looked at the pictures on the species decriptions - but I still can´t figure it out

I think perhaps G. Punctulatus is a guess for the spotted ones and perhaps G. Ctenocephalus for the two with stribes too. But it doesn´t really fit that good.... And I can´t find any good photos of P. myersi at all.

I agree with Bagrus dude. The spotted one is Gastromyzon ctenocephalus (you will often see this listed as G. punctalatus). The other one appears to be one of the yet to be named species of Gastromyzon that are starting to show up from time to time.
Hillstreams are often sold under the wrong name so finding listed as P. myersi doesn't surprise me.

Actually these pictures are of 3 species. The first striped one is this undescribed species.....




To my mind though it fits the description of Gastromyzon ridens.

The spotty fish is Gastromyzon ctenocephalus...




The other stripey fish appears similar to this other undescribed species.....




......but I think it may be yet another.

As you can see, all these Gastromyzon species are large mouthed, with big heads, and quite wide bodied. Pseudogastromyzon species have more elongate bodies and a smaller mouth, such as Pseudogastromyzon cheni.....




....which funnily enough, might just be Pseudogastromyzon myersi. The ID's on these species are all pretty sketchy and have apparently been confused. We are awaiting clarification.

I think (guess), the first and the third (stripey) is the same species.
From my experience with Gastromyzon sp. SK01, the stripe can be mottled (interupted line) to another individu.

Btw, this G.ctenocephalus and G. sp, "really wide" spread throughout the world, including to my hometown. Must be collected in big number from wild.
