Problem with Schistura Similis

Post by gunnlaugr » Sun Jan 29, 2006 12:00 am

Hi, can anyone help me a bit? I have two schistura similis that i bought about a month ago. Yesterday I noticed that one had a big white cottonlike spot on its left side, about 4 mm in width. Is it a fungus? Can i treat it with copper? Is it serious? If anyone could help me, i´d appreciate it a lot. Thanks in advance.

Hi and thanks for the link Graeme, it's very useful. I think that by the symptoms mentioned there it is a Body Fungus. I'll treat it accordingly. Thanks again.

Well it´s been a week since I first saw the white spot on the Schistura´s body, and treated it according the information Graeme kindly gave. The spot now has a brownish color and in the middle, a protuberance (like 1mm high), and no other simptoms at all. It has been behaving the same way before the illness, and eating well. Do you think it will recover? Thanks.
