With Christmas right around the corner it is time to start the "wishlist" and I would love to have a great book on loaches in general, with details on each different category of loaches. Loads of pics would be great. I only have a few loaches right now, but would love more in the future and a reference book all my own would be great! Any recommendations on the favorites that you loach fans have found that would be easily obtainable in the US so I can put it on my list?

Well, you will have to wait till next christmas for THE loach book, but for now, the ornamental fishes of India has some info, as does the baensch encyclopedias, and they aren too bad.
emma showed me one of hers on catfish and loaches, and the big book only had abiut 3 pages of laoches in.
someone else may know some more books to keep you going till next year.

Someone must be working on THE loach book I take it! I have fallen in love with loaches and cories, but am holding off on stocking anymore of anything for several personal and fish related factors, so I am pretty understocked. When the time comes that I can start looking again I would love to have a book all to myself just about loaches that I can constantly refer to. My other big wish is to be able to keep clown loaches, which so far I have had no success with, but that is another topic.

some of the people on here have written a book together just on loaches. they have had quite a long wait to see it published, but once it comes out, it will fill a hole in the book shelf that very much needs filling! i am sure it will be worth the wait.
im not sure that there is anything at all at the moment just about loaches.

That is a shame...because the more I learn about loaches....the more I love them! And puffers....I can foresee very few "common" fish in my future stocking plans! Please, Please, Please....when this wondrous book comes out make sure an announcement is posted!

Puffers are the ultimate pet fish if you have the space and dedication for suuure...
They enjoy human company more than any fish... I know someone who had a beautiful porcupine puffer that got depressed without being petted and hand fed...
Until her boyfriend got mad and bleached it because he's a douche bag..

Right now only have 3 dwarf puffers....wanting more in the future, will probably go larger freshwater, or brackish, not ready for saltwater yet.
The boyfriend would be gone....not too mention I would file cruelty to animal charges locally if they would let me!

Good, the boyfriend deserves everything he gets and then some! There is no reason to be cruel to an animal!
