Clown loach problem

The problem is actual for a friend. His Clown loach just over 5" is starting to look skinny and his eye is really dark black with a pale white ring around the outside of it. I think it has the dreaded skinny diease but he wont listen to me, he also only feeds his fish every 12 days or so, or when he remembers too (which i think is wrong).
Any help on the simptons would be a help. I'll try to get a pic.

If he only feeds the fish every 12 days then it is probably starving to death, it would have to be getting fed to know if it is skinny disease. If his feeding is that hit and miss I would hate to think what the water conditions are like

That's pretty inexcusable. If he can't feed the fish more often than that, then he really shouldn't be keeping them. He could at the very least invest in an automatic feeder for pellet foods, but the diet really does need supplementing with plenty of frozen foods too. The new frozen Improvits stuff is handy and very easy to use.

thats not good. if your friend can't be bothered to feed his fish, he shouldn't have bought them in the first place. or he should at least give them to someone who does care.
also, i hope that clown loach has a few companions and isn't all alone.

If you are bigger than your friend I suggest you steal his fish when he isnt looking and take better care of them

I agree with all of you. I kepp telling him, i either offer to feed them when i go round nearly every other day. I'm just going to put some food in from now on in even if he says NO.
He has another two in with it.

Steal the fish. I've done that before with dire circumstances. Just bring a net and distract the guy...

LOL i wont be able to do that as the tank is i the living room and there'll be nothing to put it in. I'll do my best to give it better life and feed it everytime i go round no matter what he says
