Great pics, mamaschild.

It is still a little difficult to tell, but from those pics, Albert does not look as tall in the body as Marge does. So maybe 'he' is a 'he' after all.

How tall would you actually estimate him to be? Because the pics are taken slightly from above, it makes it harder for me to estimate his height.
Lovely pics all the same!

I can tell ya almost exactly how tall he is, Emma....4"
His home is a 4" PVC "U" and he barely fits inside
Thanks, Dave. They are between 4" and 10+"

Albert is of similar proportions to my large male Stripes, then. Stripes is between 10.5 and 11" long and about 4" high. Whereas Marge is between 11.5 and 12" long and more like 5.5" high. With not too much difference in actual length between my two, the body height and shape is completely different so they are clearly male and female. So I reckon Albert is Albert, and not Alberta!

Thanks, Emma
He's still a Big Wet Puppy, no matter if it's Albert of Alberta

I love your use of a fork to hold the cucumber down! What great thinking! Are there any issues once the cucumber is consumed?

HAHAHA....yep, it was the only thing I could find in the kitchen small enough, but still heavy enough

If they get it off the fork, I take the fork out, or reattach it if the Cuke is still floating.
The loaches tend to eat out the center of the Cuke and leave the ring, so I allow them a few hours to do that, then remove what's left. By then they've pretty much stopped munchin' on it, so that's a way to tell when to remove it, too

I've used a fork in exactly the same way. The funny thing is, if I left the fork in the tank without cucumber on it, they used to bury it. What's up with that?
Martin.

So I CAN blame them for burying it
I've had them get the cuke off and I romoved the leftovers, leaving the fork...too lazy to reach to the bottom of the tank, since I'm only 5'4" and it takes a ladder

It's buried the next day

Wow, great pictures! Its really cool how much clown loaches change in color as they grow older

I used a small fork for awhile and then replaced it with stainless steel rods for kebab-style feedings.

I tried that, Bitey....guess mine were too thin since they didn't make the cuc sink?
