Has anyone ever tried to keep loaches with mussels and or clams? do the loaches eat these or leave them alone?

welp i have a few asian clams and an asian mussle in my tank
if the clams/mussles are alive i dont think theres any way for a loach to eat them
my loaches would appear to clean the outter open edge of the clam/mussle
but upon touching them the clam/mussle would close up

i have since moved them to the sump
they kept moven around to much

i've always wondered what clams eat.. they're filter eaters right? does an aquarium off the right whatever it is they eat?

i'd say you could try it, but mine have taken down very large snails and even the little clams, bigger clams might be okay... probably depends on the loach's personality...

ex: two of the clowns LOVE shrimp, but the other 5 could care less...

I have a feeling that Frank M. Greco (who imports fish and sometimes posts on here) keeps the clams in his hillstream loach tank. I might be wrong but I think I remember him posting pics a while back.

I saw some at the LFS and wanted to see if they would get eaten before i buy them.
