So I got myself a new Sony Alpha 100 DSLR for xmas. Granted I have not a clue what I am doing but it was an xmas present so I'll figure it out :D . Well here are a couple of my first shots trying to figure out what settings are what and yada yada. I know the ISO is really high in these shots so they are quite noisy.
Anyway here is baby

Here is Medyum

And here is Biggie... this is also the best shot of the tubercules that I have gotten

All suggestions are welcome, I think the shutter speed was 30, ISO 800, and F-stop of 5.6 I think.

Best advice is to get more light on the fish, either through a remote flash or brighter lights above. You should have fun with that camera!

a tripod helps out a lot... if they're relatively still, you can open up the aperture or slow down the shutter speed or both, in essense getting more light to you picture.

oh, nice loaches btw.. i'll have a big tank someday.

I can see some great pictures in the future. These are good! Dark and moody! :D

Yes, I agree - very promising indeed! 8) The last pic would certainly indicate a presence of these 'tubercles'.

Looking forward to more pics,
