do any of you feed whiteworms to your loaches?
I have a culture going but it'll be another month until I can harvest. I'm sure they'll love it since worms are part of their natural diet.

are there parasites or diseases associated with whiteworms?
And is it true that they're fattening? I always assumed that if you feed the worms fattening foods they'll be fattening.

i feed white-worm to my triangularis twice a week,
same as you i heard along time ago only to feed once or twice a week as it was fattening, so it must be right.
as far as i know there should be no parasites or diseases your fish could catch of them.

No problems if you have your own culture on the go. Like Mick say's, a couple of times a week is fine.

along with the whiteworms, i'm getting mites and these little white bugs... under the microscope, they look like a termite/louse thing... they're 1/4 the size of the mites.

I sterilized my soil & peat moss... They probably got in with the starter culture or food. I hope they're not a problem... The only way I can control the pest is to put the culture in the cold...

I'm storing it at 67°F... when it was at 50-60°.. it was bug free but the worms were so slow in reproducing.

They're going at a good rate now.
