They are a lovely fish and a worthwhile addition to any tank, ideally best kept in groups as large as possible to see their full character.

One word of warning though they don't make good tank mates for Corydoras because they quite often damage the dorsal fins of the cories.

I currently have a group of 20 and it is a stunning sight when they are all out together :D

I just got ten Sids, they were not cheap, and it turns out they might be Nigrolineata instead.

I wish some of my Sid's had turned out to be Y Nigrolineata, but then again the price I paid for my Sid's that would have been to greedy :lol:

Actually, I now see sids more than nigrolineata. It used to be the other way around. Both are great fish, in my humble opinion.

I agree with Jim. A few years ago there was an influx of "large sids" to the USA and Europe. Turned out they were nigrolineata. For a couple of summers nigrolineata were everywhere. Now it seems like real B. sidthimunki are everywhere. Ahh the times, they are a changin'. I personally have both species and enjoy them well. They like to be kept in schools of 6 or more if you are able to do so.
