Gotten through the the cycle...thanks to you all

Post by LUVaLOACH » Sat Jan 20, 2007 10:35 am

As most of you know I had a over-crowded tank and had to clone one 20 into 2. With much help from many of you...I made it...my guys are well. I hope to never have to cycle with fish again, but had no choice this time. Just wanted to thank you all for you insightful advise and support. Would not have made it without ya.

Thanks so much,
Kris

Stock it slowly, it can take three to six months for a filter to mature.

Glad to hear that you made it over the hump(s)!

YF is right. It will not be mature for several months, so add fish a little at a time if you plan to get more. 8)

Glad you are over the woe's part of fish keeping. Now I hope you can sit back and coast for a little while. When are we going to see some pictures of your Loaches?

My loach collection is not quite up to par yet. All I have now is 2 dojo's, but I am gonna get some clowns for my 55gal as soon as I change the substrate...ugh! I will send em as soon as I get em, lol.

Thanks,
Kris

I guess I am off tank restriction as I am in the clear to get a tank that will span the beadroom window, close to 6 feet....yippee!!! A loachie heaven. This will be my anniversary present in Feb. I think if I get 3 baby loachies they will be fine in there for a few months, till the big one cycles. I am so excited!

MTS in full effect, lol!

Thats great news! You have no idea how much easier it will be to take care of a large tank. I know that my 150 gallon loach tank is a breeze to maintain. May I suggest getting a tank that is drilled. It will give you alot of flexibility.
