Oh oh....if those are your early pics with this new camera we are definitely in trouble
Nice fishes.
What camera did you get?
Martin.

Thanks, Martin
It's a Canon PowerShot A630 and I'm loving it. It has a case you can buy to take pics underwater

But for the Aquarium pics it's got a glare cutting feature....nice
Takes videos, too, and even compressed ones so you can e-mail them without blowing up someones mailbox

Wow if this is your first attempt I am going to have to go back and read my book again. Great pics

Ahah!......I'm looking quite seriously at the Canon A640. I was thinking of going DSLR with a Rebel XTi, but it's a lot of extra cost for the same10 Mp and I don't really want the then added expense of specialized lenses.
I have had such spectacular results with my now 3 year-old Canon A70 with 3.2 Mp that the 640 is looking very attractive. I really need something I can pop in my pocket for my non-fish photographs. If I needed telephoto capability I might go the DSLR route, but I don't.
How do you have your's set up for these pics (mode, etc)?
Martin.

Nice photo's! good quality to... (hmm maybe we should have a seperate forum for that with only pictures)
@martin the 640 is a good choice just as good as the G7 even though is uses the new digic III proc. and the 640 the digic II. though a bit noisier with neat image afterprocessing the 640 is just as good and maybe better in some cases. G7 has more zoom and IS but it's bigger to.
the F30/f40 would also be a camere to bare in mind since it has very good low noise on very high iso numbers. but they lack the control options the 640 has.

I do not generally find noise much of a problem because I take virtually all my fish pics at 100. I'm interested in reaction speed though and the digicII is noticeably faster than my old camera. I checked one out a short while ago in a shop.
All functions seem much faster.

Thanks everyone
Martin, basic funtions were Macro, flash on, in Scenery mode "Underwater". Can't tell you the intimate details as I'm not sure of any of them

Shutter speed and things like that are still a bit above me, but I'm working on it
Got the cutest pic of my Albino BN snuggled up with a Pangio this morning

I'll post that later
The only "issue" I have with this so far is the light on the front of the camera tends to scare the fish the first few times. Well, not all of them....some of the bigger guys are more curious them scared

If I sit in front of the tank and make the light go on and off a few times, they seem to figure out it's not going to hurt them. Helps that I have a TON of nosey fish, too
