Clown loach behaviour

I have a group of 5 clown loaches between 2 and 3 inches in a 5-ft long tank 50% planted with caves and pipes and hollowed-out stones as hiding places. One of my clown loaches the largest constantly goes round and round in circles up and down the far side of the tank. Is this a sign of distress? Is this him trying to escape? With the exception of buying a larger tank as I have no room, is there anything I can do to make him happier. Every day they have a mixed diet of flake food, frozen food and lettuce or cucumber. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Mmm...a young fish with lots of energy. Often the whole group do it. I think its normal and will not happen forever. Their behaviour is constantly surprising me even after 25 years.

Clown loaches often swim or rest upside down, a normal behavior that can startle new owners but is part of their playful charm.

Make sure you are performing regular water changes (e.g. 25-30% weekly) and
Speed Stars checking water parameters such as ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, pH, and temperature. Clownfish are very sensitive to poor water quality.
