One of my clown loaches lost the ability to swim this morning. She also as what appears to be a large, pale cloud/discoloration on her back. I am so upset to see her suffering in this state of paralysis and do not know what to do. The rest of the fish in the aquarium are fine and the water quality is right on target. I would appreciate any advise on this matter.

HI, I personally don't know what may be wrong with your loach, but you have come to the right place. The people here are great and will do all they can to help you. I might suggest that you try to post a picture to help them diagnose the problem.
I hope all goes well.

1st thing I'd do If it's just one fish or a few fish, is to move them to a small quarantine tank. Don't leave them in your main tank.
It's good to be prepared for quarantining fish at all times.

Hi, I was just checking back to see how your loach was doing? Hopefully, she's doing some better. I know how we get attached to these little guys.

Unfortunately, I had to euthanize the poor little thing. The suffering was unbearable to see. I used the most humane method possible involving sedation with clove oil.
