Just took these the other day. Sitting on top of the River-Tank manifold intake sponges.

Very cool. Do these fish behave like L. disparis?
I want some!

Extremely similar Jim. They search for food with a sort of sideways scything movement of the nose through the gravel. Greedy too....always searching.

Well.....they've been in use since 1998, but they also get thoroughly washed under tap-water about once a month.

Did these fish come is a Vanmanenia or some common name?

I think it was some "common name" Jim, but I don't know what. Harold had them labelled up as Liniparhomaloptera disparis until clever clogs here walks in and says uh-uh. Told him I thought they were Vanmanenia then confirmed it once I got home.

I love the way their fins are always 'standing to attention'. Beautiful fish,
lucky you.

If you look in the background in the first picture, you can see another fish with its dorsal a bit lower. They never have them down more than that.
