Thought Sids Were Nigrolineata But Really Were Sids

Post by YellowFinned » Fri Feb 23, 2007 10:13 am

The shop where I had previously got some juvenile Sids got some more in. So I got the lot, another sixteen on top of my previous ten. These came from Kanchanaburi.

The shopkeeper explained in detail the differences in fish from Kanchanaburi, and Nan. She did not know the names Sid or Nigrolineata and only knew them by their local names, but knew the difference in size and pattern. She also told me how forty years previously, Sids had been really common and she used to sell them on for next to nothing to Singapore.

I'm sorry, Yellow-finned. I did sit and admire your pictures for quite a while yesterday. I should have let you know. I always enjoy your posts.
