A day at LPS

Post by Ippo456 » Thu Mar 15, 2007 7:25 pm

I went to PetCo today to get some bags to ship my goldfish.
I saw the cutest & tiniest 3 clown loaches, each about 1-inch long.
The colours are so much better than my juvy clowns & I'm debating whether I should take them home or not.
Considering their size, they're not cheap, about $7 each & I bought mine (about 2-inches long) for about $9 each.
I really want to see these guys grow huge!!!
On the sign, it says that these loaches grow to 11-inches long .. which is wrong .. it grows up to 16-inches long!
MAYBE I'll buy those loaches tomorrow ....................................

Well, I was put off by the other fishies I saw in the store.
Many of the goldfish were either infected by ich or fin rot.
One of the crayfish's claws were totally missing.
I couldn't stand looking at the sick fish ....
I told the lady that the goldies are sick & she said that she'd take a look at them.
Hopefully she'll treat them & not just dump them.

I once bought ONE goldfish from them and put it in my tank. The water turned cloudy, probably from the extra waste of the new goldfish, but it went away in a day. Over the next 4 days, I lost everything in my tank except for a cory and the goldfish.

Make sure you quarentine them for a while...I didn't...

Yea, always good to have a qt tank .. even for plants.
I learned it the hard way .. tank got infested with snails & that's how I got into loaches.
