Hello,

Can anyone help id a few of the fish I managed to photograph while on holiday. I'm particularly interested in the red tailed loach. Is this a new/ undiscovered species or variant? So what do you think?

I wouldn't like to say what the loach is but photos 1 and 5 are definitely a species of Goby, you can just make out the double dorsal fin :)

Can you give us the location of the trip?

Yeah, fish were collected in northern Thailand from a very small stream 3 hour hike from the town of Pai.
For those interested in their natuarl habitat. The stream was very shallow, about 12" deep at most, flowing very rapidly, about 18"-24" per second. The water was very cold (on a hot day), I would estimate low 20's celcius. The river bed was covered in dark rounded pebbles 2"-4", with no other cover. I'm not sure of the water parameters, but with all the limestone in the area (or so I'm told), and with shrimp/prawns just a little upstream, I'd guess the water to be not too soft.

Here's the possibles we have listed. Not sure that it's any of those.
