A Pridii Project!

Given a lot of thought and ponderings, i decided to try and give these little Schistura pridii a chance in a longer life with potential breedings. I see no point in leaving them in a lfs, when i can give them my care with my long years of loach keeping experiences!

A 2ft x 1ft x 1ft tank has been selected for these 1 inch Gems. Sand/gravel as a substrate with plenty round stones/large pebbles. Planted also!

The filtration will replicate a river-tank in temperatures of 22c/72f.

For what this might worth Greame...the S. pridii was found living under the rock in the rapid in this picture. Compare to you set up, they probably need shallower water, higher velocity and more rocks. The stream flow from limestone outcrop so it is probably of high pH & conductivity, and quite cold in the region of 20-23 C. Sorry I don't have exact measurement. I hope you will succesfully breed them. They are cute little fish, really.

Upon learning that the fish was named after her late husband, his wife said that the life style of this little fish that live against a strong current, really match the life of her husband.

Btw, Pridi is an old Thai word mean something like "Happiness".
