This death is so confusing, because it was so sudden.. Its like she was perfectly fine, and then gone. I haven't made any big changes to the tank.... last water change was a week and a half ago. I was feeding frozen brine shrimp, and she didn't come up to ravage them with the rest of the tank... I knew something was wrong, she loved brine shrimp. It was so sad to see her upside-down on the bottom of the tank. I feel a bit paranoid for the other fish now... I hope this isn't something that will spread to the others...
Thanks for the feedback, Fear_The_Loach. Fish are mysterious sometimes, aren't they?

Sorry for your losses. Half of one of my tanks got wiped out by a faulty heater a few days ago!

It may have just been her time, but who knows. but yeah, she may have either eaten something bad, or had gotten a parasite.

Sorry about this, big-spaghetti.
It's hard to lose these guys. You've taken some great photos to help others diagnose what might have killed her. I don't know enough about loach anatomy to know what organs are underneath that grey area. Maybe others will know more.
Welcome to the forum, even under these sad conditions.

RIP Henrietta.
I'm sorry to hear that your first post was for this.
It looks like her tummy was full, mine never have a dark spot. Could it have been bloat, blockage, or constipation?

Bloating naturally comes with death, so that may be something.

That grey looks like an infection.
I heard that Leva HCL &/or
mythelene blue works wonders
