Hi,
hmm, i was just watching my fish and i noticed my weather loach in the corner sort of coughing really heavily.
then he started to "fart" a few times then a big cloud of brown came out!!!
and he swam away happy as larry. i know it's probably as it sounds, just waste but i just want to make sure it's not nothing serious. anyone have a clue?
many thanks for any help!!!!

Perfectly normal for him. He probably absorb oxygen from the air through his guts and released it in their normal fashion.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I've always observed him going up for a gulp of air then releasing it in a small bubble, just freaked me out a bit as I've never seen him do this.
So if he was taking in air and extracting the oxygen there, what's happening when he releases small clear bubbles?
Thanks for the help!!!

The warmer weather could be connected. I'd call the cloud a Spring cleaning of the hind gut.

I'm pretty sure I saw one of my Danio dangila vomit once. Saw a burst of something out the corner of my eye and turned around to see a big cloud of....something....with all the fish going nuts in the middle of it. Quite bizarre. Never seen it since.

My betta's feces usually come out in a soft-serve ice cream shape, but after he ate a bunch of daphnia, it came out in a whitish cloud.
My goldfish sometimes has floating poo with air bubbles in it...not sure why.
