this is my dojos favorite place to hang out he seems to go there when ever i turn the lights out. My wife thinks he sees it as his own little hamock to sleep in. didnt know if it ment anything with him being so close to the waters edge. he doesnt seem to be gulping for air and he is very healthy otherwise as far as i can tell. but this is my favorite loach so i tend to be a overly protective parent. thanks for looking all.

give him something to rest on at the bottom
mine likes to wedge between some of the thick bushier plants. She's always on a weird angle and a few times, I thought she was dead. soon as i came over to investigate, she bolted off and continued foraging as normal

Loaches sure have their own personality's.

I'd say "typical" rather than "normal"

My dojo's or should I say dojo (for now) do all kinds of crazy stuff...they hang from the plants half the time and the other half of the time all I can see is their little heads peeking out of the sand...what a hoot! You gotta love em'!
I agree with typical vs. norm.

Mine NEVER burrow all the way into the sand.. When I had gravel they would break their necks to get into it, but now that I have soft sand they just play in it like puppies.
They love to tangle into the plants and ride the current from the output of the HOB filters. It's pretty funny to watch it. I have a couple of those animation wal mart ornaments in my tank, my smallest used to hide in the pirates barrel until he outgrew it.
I need to make a new loach motel for them..

Does anyone have a tank setup for dojos i am getting a 55 gallon tank with in the month. I want to set it up for them and i have never seen a tank done that way. It would help me out greatly to see what other people have done and what seems to work for other people so that i can get some ideas when setting mine up.

I was wondering what is everyone using to keep thier dojo tanks cool mine sits at 72 degrees constantly. I would prefer not to have to spend several hundred dollars on a water chiller. If it is my only option then i'll make it work but its gunna hurt the buget lol.
