Skin Lesions on Clown Loach

Post by Gurkmate » Tue Apr 17, 2007 11:39 pm

Our clown loach is covered in skin lesions or ulcers all over its body and dorsal fin. It also has these whittish patches on other parts of its body. The edges of the dorsal, anal and tail fins are ragged. This is not ich, and I cannot find a good pic or description of velvet. We have isolated it and are treating with antibiotics and CopperSafe. I really want to positively identify this disease. I have some pics of the poor thing to help with identification but don't know how to post.

That sounds like very bad news for your loach, Gurk. The first and best step you can take is to record and report all of your tank conditions:
pH, GH, temperature, tank size, ammonia, tank age, when you got the loach, how big the loach is, etc...

This will help determine what the problem is.

Post photos at www.loachtank.org Link them in using the Img bar on this site.
Your vantage point determines what you can see.
