New Hillies

I saw a few Hillies in a store over the weekend but resisted the urge to buy some straight away. Yesterday I set up a quarantine tank for them, I basically cloned the existing setup using water and filter sponges from the P. Cheni tank.

This is the Q tank

This morning I arrived at the shop before the doors were even open and managed to get talking to a member of staff that I have known for some time who has only just moved to this shop and she said she would catch the ones I wanted.

I got 5 of these guys which I think (preparing to be corrected by the experts  ) are Gastromyzon Occelatus

I also got 3 of which I think are Gastromyzon Ctenocephalus

and in the Q tank

I had wanted 5 G Ctenocephalus but when I looked a little closer at home I had these 2 in with the G Ctenocephalus and I don't know what they are - Gastromyzon Stellatus :?:

Needless to say I got a little discount as well

Nice gastros!! I think you'll really like them. They are certainly one of my favorites.

Nice! You're correct on the ID's although some of those occelatus are getting rather close to farragus in their markings.

Thanks for the confirmation :D

I am going to see how these go for a couple of days and I might go back and get a couple more G Ctenocephalus and see if I can get a couple more of the G Stellatus.

Hopefully I will get another discount as well

Very nice fish!
also got 3 of which I think are Gastromyzon Ctenocephalus
The 2nd picture in this series shows a fish with a red tail....something else, perhaps? Cteno's have bluish tails..
