Took some pics

Wow i hadn't realised how long ago it was that i last posted some pics of my loaches, pretty close to a year ago actually...
Not the greatest quality but i took a ton and these were my select few favourites. Haven't noticed much in the way of discussion or pics of Dario so i figured i'd contribute :P

First off here's how skinny & sickly they looked a year ago. I hadn't looked at this pic in almost a year and was stunned how bad they looked. I didn't recall that they were THAT skinny it's shocking to see now. I'm lucky i only really lost one after the heater mishap & subsequent replacement from the same tank at the LFS. 4 remain and been nice & fat 'n' happy since.

Here's now, looking MUCH better:

Here's a different angle that i liked

Here's the tank, a 75 gallon. The left side has been a constant work in progress and will soon look much better filled with plants & more wood. The bristlenose devil i mean pleco is a bull over there breaking and uprooting whatever i've put there in the past....

Don't mind the algae spots & dirty glass in the pics :P

Wow! Big improvement in your loaches from the first to the second picture. You've done a great job of caring for them. Your tank is lovely, too.

Thanks for sharing. :D

Thanks for the kind words folks.

It's funny how when i look back how polite this forum was when i first excitedly posted some pics of my new loaches back then, despite how terrible & sick they looked. This is a pretty unique place really & i kinda feel bad for not having contributed much when i feel that i've learned, picked up, and taken so much info and advice from you all.
Hopefully seeing your words put into action and the results reaffirms it all in some way.

Well done Spankenstyne, you've done a fab job with those B. dario. 8) The only thing I'm a little concerned about is the rock you are using in this tank, it looks like lava rock, is that correct? If so, it can pose a bit of a danger for the loaches delicate sensory barbels and 'scale-less' skin.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing lots more photos from you in the future! (hint hint!).

Thanks Emma!

Yeah it is lava rock but after over a year now there haven't been any visible injuries or scrapes, & barbels all seem fine .
I really watched them closely for especially the first few months with the intention of removing the rock if it was causing any issues. So far not a single problem and they seem to spend most of their time in, around, and behind the rock.

Thanks Graeme & Tinman.

Haha yes correct. The unknown would be a "mossy" Tiger Barb.

If you include parts, the answer is five.

Great pics BTW.
