Sick Clown Loaches

Hi this is my first post. I've had three Clown Loaches for about a month now. Im unsure as to wether my loaches are sick or not. From a distance two of them are lying on their sides looking like they're really sick, but when i approach my tank they get up and become extremely active again. Theyve been doing this for about a week now. They dont have any white spots on them and theyre not showing any other types of illness. (apart from lying on their sides) Does anyone know why they may be behaving like this?

Thanks
Daniel

Hi Daniel

This totally normal Loach behaviour, I think everyone here will have had more than one panic attack because of one of there Loaches playing dead

Welcome to LOL

I remember seeing icewall's fish first do this. Sometime it can be scary since they can get all lopsided and floating. But like the poster above me said this is normal behavior....now I find it amusing....like laughing at a family member who has fallen asleep at a family function....

Loaches sleep on their sides. What you saw was them taking a nap. Some of the littler guys in my loach pack feel so confortable that they sleep on their sides right next to the glass at the front of the tank.

haha.

My clowns occasionally sleep upside down...and sometimes even float sideways while playing with the water current at the filter output..

Clowns... :D

I think it is better to start a new thread...

Anyway, I feed mine chopped shrimp, frozen bloodworms and tubifex worms..

Cant feed pellets yet for me as im still trying to fatten up my large clowns..
