While moveing my Y. sidthimunki's to their new temporary tank before they move into their 75 gallon I thought I would take advantage of the situation and get some photos of the whole group all, 36 of them.

I managed to take around 80 pictures which I whittled down to 56, but to be honest I was a little disapointed with them, I may try for some better ones when I move them again into their new tank.

So here is a small selection

HOW MANY  wow, that is a fantastic group. they look wonderfull, and in great condition. they must so so entertaining to watch with so many of them. when you are happy with the photo quality (not that there is anything wrong IMO), one should be used for reference on the main site, i reckon :D

Those are great photos of fat sids.

How quickly, or slowly do sids grow? I have had my juvi sids for about three months now, and I cannot see that they have grown.

I have bought the 36 in 3 groups, the first group of 10 were purchased in April 2006, the second group of 10 in November 2006 and the last group of 16 were bought in January 07 and apart from a couple of skinny ones there isn't really a vast difference in sizes considering every group were bought at around 3/4".

So it seems like the last group have grown the fastest as they are pretty much all around 1 1/2"+ now, I think the fact that they feel so at home in such a large group may have helped with there speedy growth and possibly the amount of bloodworm and black midge larvae that they get.

I am just in the process of treating them again with Levimasole before they go up to their 75 gallon tank, hopefully I will see a bit of a growth spurt when they go into their new home.

Are you going to get any more once they're in the new tank?

Nice to see any kind of loaches in thick numbers like that. Especially sids.

Very impressive to see them like that.
That has to be an interesting tank to watch. They are so active.

Wow MD you HAVE more sids than I've ever SEEN total. They look great. I have my 9 in a 75g & they only occaisionally dance if the striatas get it going. They like to race with the red tailed rasboras once in a while.

They all grew about 1/4 inch or so when they moved to the bigger tank but still the biggest I've had ~1 1/2 years are only barely 2 in. TL. Compared to how small they were when I got them (1/2 in SL) they seem huge now.
