How about praziquantel?i couldnt get my hands on any of those. Try Azoo products? It helps..

Moreover, you should try those yellow powders(nitrofuran stuffs) to combat internal bacteria problem(no harm in trying).

BTW, try to get some sand for them...then they'll be happier...and reduces stress as well. :)

When I feed my clowns with good ammount of frozzen larvae for example, their belies are "fat" almost 24 hours after that.

You guys never get "full belly" after you feed them?

The first drug is probably a better choice.

Both Prazi and Niclosamide are tapeworm drugs.

Prazi is known to be fish-safe (used in several fish-intended products, I've used it on Botia's and even on hillstreams) whereas Niclosamide is an unknown. The spec sheet on the drug says:
It is of very low toxicity to mammals (WHO
Hazard Class III, table 5), can be toxic to aquatic vertebrates
(e.g. fish and amphibians) and crustaceans.
... this is a red flag, imo.

hth

PS. What exactly is a Lew Clown Loach anyway?

Niclosamide will kill off snails and is listed as highly toxic to very highly toxic to freshwater fish. It's been used in the US since 1964. It is no longer a recommended treatment for freshwater fish (or humans, for that matter). Treats for tapeworms/cestodes. I wouldn't recommend it.

Effective treatment for freshwater fish with Prazi is 1.5 - 2 mg/L in a 24 hour bath. You will need to treat again in a week for both Prazi and Levamisole to eliminate tapeworms/nematodes.

A couple of good articles on fish parasites:

http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/FA041

I'll look into it a bit more tomorrow.
anyone ever used prazi on their loaches? I haven't personally...

This has been answered above, in the same post the Niclosamide link came from. Additionally, at least two active posters mentioned using PraziPro with Clown Loaches within the last couple of months.

It needs to be mentioned that while Levamisole and Prazi are safe individually or combined, this in no way implies that the drug designed for a different animal is safe with fish. Impurities can be deadly.
