I will be needing 7 baby clown loaches in about 10 days. I am in Denton, and it looks like to get baby loaches, 1 1/2 to 2 inches, I will have to make a drive. Anyone seen any small ones in the metroplex, preferably Ft. Worth, Carrollton, etc.....hopefully not far east or far south, that is really far.
Could even do southern Oklahoma!
Thanks!

Be really careful with clown loaches of such a small size, they can be very delicate. Better to look for some over 2.5" in length in my opinion. Tiny ones need regular feedings several times per day, which is not always easy in the home aquarium. Not only may this not be too practical, but more importantly, the filtration may not cope with such a heavy rate of feeding (particularly if the tank is still maturing). I wish other stores wouldn't order them in at such ridiculous sizes, so many must perish.

yes, I was really worried when the LSF gave me the tiny one of 1 1/2 inch.....the others were 2 and maybe 2 1/2 inches....
That baby was just the cutest, hense, my wanting more.
Petsmart got in a bunch the other day and already had 7 or 8 in the tank from previous week or weeks. I talked to the girl, and she said if they make it thru the first few days there, they are usually okay.
ugh!
So they have about 2 1/2 inch ones for $8 - $9 there.

I will be moving my 30 gallon 4 week old tank into the 75 gallon one. Last week I added bio spira to 3 week fishless cycling water used fish food. I started it though with those ceramic rings from someone elses tank in behind the filter. And also water from that tank.
Everything seems fine so far. I have 14 juvenile guppies in that 30 gallon tank right now and will move them into the 75 for a while too.
I am going to set up a 55 gallon for the guppies next.
Then I can add semi aggressive fish to the loach tank......just have to figure out what, and have my quarantine tanks set up and ready to go.......
one step at a time :D

I meant to say I will be moving my 30 gallon water, and Emperor 400 into the 75 gallon, adding a second Emperor 4oo and........ adding more bio-spira. Hope to do that this weekend and then add loaches after that.
And the little guppies and the already established biowheels can help keep the balance for all that bacteria, for a while.........
I am so excited! Just have this thing called a job interfering with all my time right now

better to take a fitler that has been running in an established tank and move that to the new tank. BOOM your ready to go.
