/the story (i can never just make a short post, so skip to the point if you watn no story
)
when i went out to lowe's yesterday to buy plumbing for rivertank manifold i stopped by the only other petstore in town besides petsmart because its right there in front of lowe's. its on the other side of town so i dont stop by much. anyway, i of course went thru their fish section, theyve got the standard tetras, platys, danios, etc on one 'aisle' then on another they ahve the more speciality stuff in their planted tanks: discus, lungfish, clown loaches, dempseys, arowana, and what is this i see, a very tame (or hungry) nile tilapia, i was impressed as id never seen one before. then in the next tank i didn't notice anything, seemed empty, but i noticed the tag above the tank, "Blueberry Botia".
/the point
i would have asked more about it, but the guy i usually talk to wasn't in the store, just two young girls who didn't know much of anything about fish. ive searched a bit but havent set anything clear in my head. is the blueberry botia perhaps a yasuhikotakia modesta? has anyone ever heard a modesta -commonly- (or not so commonly) called a blueberry botia?
i didnt catch a scientific name nor did i get a glimpse of the fish, so i really have no leads here. i do know that the price was $19.99, or wait, actually it may have been $29.99, in fact i think it was. this places prices are usually a little higher than other places ive been though. im interested in gaining information on this fish as every botia/loach i come across i -must- have (loachaholic) and since ive only actually seen three different species in person i was thrilled when i saw that tag. ill be in touch with the store this week to see if they can more in and/or can get other species (im setting up another tank, may as well get some good stock
). thanks ahead of time for any info
