Loaches Online Forum

Hi y'all. I'll be setting up a fairly large asian themed planted aquarium for a friend soon, and I'd like there to be a few loaches in the tank, but Im unsure if they'll eat cherry shrimp.

So do any of you know if weather loaches or khuli loaches will eat Cherry shrimp?

Will hillstram loaches or kuhli loaches eat MTS snails or Apple snails?

Weather and kuhli loaches should really be in the same tank as their temperature requirements are different. Kuhli's would leave the shrimp alone, although I'd imagine they'd pick off any tiny babies that got to the substrate. Don't know about the weather loaches though.

Again, hillstream and kuhli loaches have very different temperature and current requirements, so shouldn't be kept together. Neither are likely to eat any snails of any variety.

Hi legendary frog and welcome to LOL. What exactly are you planning? The reason being is that weather loaches, hillstream loaches and kuhli loaches all have differing requirements.

Weather loaches will possibly eat small snails and shrimp, but the shrimps and snails will be ok with kuhlis or hillstreams. However, you need the appropriate tank conditions for whatever type of loach you intend to stock the tank with.
