We've folded and decided we want to keep our pacu, and are planning a 9x4x4 foot tank, we were wondering when our clowns are fully grown if it would be an ok mix?

Hello Saphphx,
When I kept some large Pacu for a little while, I was surprised to watch them eat bottom feeder pellets
whole. They would scoop them up off the bottom along with the pea-sized gravel, then they would spit the gravel out. They could eat alot of them, too.
They never harmed the blue gourami that lived with them, nor the 12 inch pleco.
I would think that they could live nicely together. It might be a challenge to get food to the clowns.
I'm hardly an expert, though, so I look forward to seeing other responses.

I think I am going to burry a large plastic box with a hole in the side for the clowns to go in and a whole on the top to fit a PVC pipe to shoot food down into the hidy hole for them

Or distract the pacu with a cuddle and let the plecs and loaches eat lol!
