Weird b. histrionica behavior
Ok.. this is weird but some of you might have it happen to you..
My 4-5 inch histrionica have recently found a new thing to do by jumping out of the water and swims upstream against the HOB filter current and jumping into the HOB filter itself!
It's a rather large filter and he stays in one of the 2 container. He stays in there for a day and then jumps out to eat and hang out with the other histrionica. I just saw him do it again.
There's no danger of him getting chewed up by the motor.. There is a danger of him missing his jumps and wind up out of the tank however.
Should I discourage this behavior and how? He seems to enjoy it.
there's plenty of hiding places in the tank, not sure why he prefers the filter.

that's what I'm thinking.. And maybe throw in a large sea shell? Maybe he's bored. But this guy has a tendency to go away for a couple of days and come back looking healthier and bigger.. Not sure if this is natural behavior.brett_fishman wrote:how would you re-direct him to play somewhere else? add some pvc pipes??
