Hi folks. We have been given a BIg yoyo. He is about 5-6" i would say. He has red around the barbles so i am guessing he is male. We have 13 clown loaches ranging from 2" to 7" for him to play with but would love to get him some of his own kind. Would it be ok to put in smaller ones or would i be better getting some bigger ones for him? I saw some beuties in Pboro.

i have two monster yoyos, and they are fine with my small striatas (except one who is scared, the yoyos dont chase it). i bought them as monsters, so i was a bit worried about whether they would be OK or not, but not a problem at all
Get healthy ones as your first priority!
Was that at Maidenhead Aquatics you saw the loaches? if it was, then you couldnt go to a better place for your fish.

How long is the drive for you? i know it takes Graeme a long time. At least you know they will be healthy and well looked after when you buy them.
i hope they will all get on fine. maybe you could show us some photos?

Yes, it's a long drive for me. I don't see any problems with adding more to the mix. More the merrier!

Hi Bonedaddy,
I'm really glad you enjoyed your trip over to our shop.

I tend to do most of my work from home these days (except for fish shipment evenings), which is why I wasn't around. You should join us for the Loaches Online British meeting planned for sometime in August.

hello, bonedaddy; nice to see someone else from the Midlands! I reckon smaller yoyos would be fine - though don;t let that put you off going back to Peterborough...

Bonedaddy - Wonderful video. Poor pleco is plagued with tank mates that like to play and see him as a toy!

Well we have 22 plecs in this tank and I have to say they all get on very well together - never any heated moments - we really seem to have a peacefull tank which is nice - the clowns are always very well behaved - at times they can be a little mad - i.e. bloodworm time - much crazy`ness - but by an large they are all well behaved...

Nice video!
22 plecos -- what kinds?
My common (11"+) lived with clowns most of his life without any problems, he is now surrounded with Kubs who like to explorer him...they see him as furniture but he is a bit ticklish...
