Got some photos when they were sleeping..the diameter of the pipe is almost 5 inches.The largest is at 11 inches, had lots of internal parasite problems and went through it..and the other two is at 8 inches.

excellent pics! Thank the gods that loaches are generally peaceful .. I always wonder what would happen if one loach would go crazy in a pipe like that and extended its spines .. this could become really messy.

ckk125- great pics again. Your pipe pics inspired me to get 20ft of pvc pipe so that I could have alot more caves for my clowns.

i don't know about that one, i think about 5 more can fit in that hole. lets get that motel full!

Pipe makes them so happy,if anybody does this round and sand the edges as it is very dangerous if left rough. I actually use three 4" PVC on a 6' tank and put slate on that then my piles of rocks so as to have absolute minimal bottom contact . You may also buy PVC fittings that work well also.

I use a XL bambootube for my clowns and it is their favorite hidingplace (my Panaque love it as well so it disappears over time )
